Steering Wheel Oct 07

Replaced the old steering wheel with this classic, yet sporty one. It's a little smaller in diameter, so it doesn't get in the way of my legs anymore, and it's much more comfortable on the hands, greatly enhancing the driving experience.

Tires and Wheels Jun 07

This is my last big expense in this year's budget. I attended the Vintage Mustang Owners Association annual show this month, which was inspiring, and covetousness-inducing. I got to talk to a lot of owners, though, and see some amazing cars. After also reading every tire fitment guide that I could get my hands on, I bought these Vintage 45 wheels (16x8) and had Yoko 225/50/16's mounted on them. After holding my breath a little, they fit fine and look awesome! I know what a difference tires make, as I upgraded my GTI a couple of years ago, but I was not prepared for the quantum leap in ride and handling that these make, compared to my stock 195/75/14's that I was riding before. I find every excuse to go out for a drive now.

First Oil Change Apr 07

I just hit 5k miles on the engine and got to do my first oil change. Ahhh, fresh oil...

Floor Mats Spr 07

Now that I'm back on the road again, I had to get floor mats to protect that carpet.

Disc Brakes Oct 06

This is the first big job. I took the old drum brakes off of the front, which tend to stop unevenly and get water in them. I got new 4-piston disc brakes and installed them, which included packing the new wheel bearings. All of that went pretty smoothly, except for the first injury to my finger, and popping a very strong bolt because my torque wrench wasn't working properly. The part that took the longest was bleeding them completely, but it was great to have it finished.

Stereo Installation Sep 06

First order of business, I need tunes. I took the head out of my GTI and modified the Stang bezel to install it, then mounted 2 6x9's in the package tray.

Introducing the '67 Mustang Jul 06

Here it is, got it from the owner of a Mustang restoration shop. He had dropped in a rebuilt 289 under the hood, and done a lot of work on the interior and mechanical stuff. Obviously, the exterior still needs work, and he decided that he wouldn't have time to finish the project. That's where I come in.
